Step-by-Step: How to Earn Them
1. Open Garmin Trails
Open the Garmin Connect app or head to connect.garmin.com and navigate to Trails. You'll find thousands of hiking, running, and cycling routes.
2. Complete a Trail and Write a Review
After an activity on a trail, you can leave a review directly in Garmin Connect. Write an honest, detailed assessment – this not only helps others, but also increases your chances of being marked as helpful.
Tips for a great review:
- Describe the surface and current trail conditions
- Mention notable viewpoints or technical challenges
- Include notes on parking or public transport access
- Upload meaningful photos – ideally from distinctive spots along the trail
3. Upload Photos
Photos are essential for the Photo Likes badges. Upload 1–3 strong images per trail. Quality beats quantity – one great photo earns more likes than ten average ones.
4. Tap into the Community
Here's the real secret: to get photo likes and helpful ratings, you need other Garmin users to actually see and interact with your content. That's where the community comes in.
Badgehero Can Help
Badgehero.io now has a dedicated page for exactly this: Trails Reviews
Submit your trail link there and ask the community to like your photos or mark your review as helpful. Other badge hunters do the same – and in return, you can visit and rate their trails.
The principle is simple: give and take. The more actively you support others, the more support you'll get back.
Why These Badges Are Special
The Trails Review Badges are the first Garmin badges to reward genuine community engagement. You don't need to run faster or cycle further – you need to help others make better decisions on the trail.
That makes them a uniquely satisfying addition to any badge collection.
Ready to get started? Submit your trail link at Badgehero Trails Reviews and let the community rate your review!
